Completing the Transition
Have you lived in the United States as a legal permanent resident for at least five years? If so, you may be eligible for citizenship. The benefits of citizenship can be many, including the right to vote and participate in the political process. You want an experienced immigration attorney to help you through the process, so that you take the right steps to protect your interests.
My name is Sarah B. Vitelli. I am a partner in the law firm of Black & Vitelli, LLC, in Woburn, Massachusetts. I focus my entire practice on immigration law, including all issues related to naturalization and citizenship. When you hire me to help you become an American citizen, you will work directly with me throughout the process, never with an associate or a paralegal. I will take the time to carefully listen to all your concerns and identify all your options, so you can relax with the confidence that your interests are being protected.
I offer a free initial consultation. To set up a meeting with an experienced Boston U.S. citizenship attorney, contact me or call my office at 781-995-0459 or toll free at 508-331-3444.
Lowell Naturalization Lawyer ∙ Woburn U.S. Citizenship Attorney
If you were not born in the United States, the only way you can obtain citizenship is through naturalization. In addition to residing in the United States for at least five years (only three years if you are married to a U.S. citizen), you must also show that:
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- You have been physically present in America for at least three of the last five years.
- You did not take up permanent residence in any other country over the last five years.
Immigration laws also require that you be of good character, without criminal arrests or other behavior that may be suspicious. You must also be able to read, write and speak English.
I work with men and women throughout the citizenship and naturalization process, helping you fulfill the requirements for citizenship. I will help you prepare for or find the resources to help you successfully pass the U.S. history and government exam required of all persons seeking citizenship. I will also assist you in your preparation for your interview with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).
